There are several ways to launch the package information dialog. Once a package is selected, you can right-click on it in the list and select Get Info or from the main menu you can select Package > Get. Alternatively you can double-click on the package in the list.
The package properties dialog window is shown below. It has two tabs: General and Details.

1. The package Icon: This is the icon that is available for the package. This icon is provided by the package vendor.
2. Package Information: This section lists the most common package properties.
• Summary: This is some text that summarizes the functionality of the package.
• Description: This is the detailed package description provided by the Package Vendor.
• Copyright: This shows the copyright information provided by the package vendor.
• Vendor: This is the vendor name.
• License: Name of the license under which the package is being distributed
• Distribution: Category under which the package will be available in the LabVIEW pallet.
• Packager: Name of the person or entity who created the package.
• Homepage: This is the URL (if available) where more information can be obtained on the package. This is a clickable object. If you click on it then the URL will open in your web browser.
• Package URL: This is the remote location where the package has been downloaded from.
• Where: This will show the local path where the package is downloaded to. This will be your library location. If the package has not been downloaded yet then this field will not be available.
• Dependencies: This indicates the package(s) that this package depends on. This means that if you try to install this package then you will be prompted to install the dependency packages if they are not already installed.
• Conflicts: This indicates the package(s) (if any) that this package conflicts with. This means that you cannot install this package if you have any of the packages indicated in the conflicts list installed.
3. Previous Package: Click on this button to navigate to the previous package in the package list. If the package properties window was launched via the Get Info Other of the right-click menu (see Figure 26) then the previous button will navigate to the previous package version of the selected package.
4. Next Package: Click on this button to navigate to the next package in the package list. If the package properties window was launched via the Get Info Other of the right-click menu (see Figure 26) then the next button will navigate to the next package version of the selected package.
5. Done: Click on this button to close the window.
