System Requirements

Run-Time Engine

In order to install and run VIPM you must install the LabVIEW 8.2.1 Run-Time Engine. This is a free download. Please see the following webpage for instructions:

Internet Network Connection

VIPM relies on the internet to get package updates on the VI Package Network. A high speed internet connection is recommended. VIPM also provides configuration parameters to setup a proxy server connection. An Intenet connection may also be required if you are connecting to a corporate repository remotely.

Hard Disk Drive Storage Space

The VIPM installation requires approximately 200MB of disk space. This includes the LabVIEW run-time engine requirements. Depending on the number of packages you plan on installing, VIPM will also require the appropriate disk storage.

Stuffit Expander (Mac OS X)

On Mac OS X, VIPM utilizes the Stuffit Expander application (9.0 or later) in order to extract certain compressed archives during the installation process.  Additionally, the VIPM installer is distributed as a .sea archive which may be extracted using Stuffit Expander, prior to installation of VIPM.  You can find a link to the latest version of Stuffit Expander at the following URL:

Supported LabVIEW Versions

VIPM is able to manage your reuse libraries for all LabVIEW versions starting at version 6.0 and up to the most recent version. VIPM will not work with LabVIEW versions older than LabVIEW 6.0.
